Closed- a circuit that is a continuous loop without breaks, allows electrcity to flow
Open- a circuit that is not a continuous loop and has breaks, doe snot allow electrcity to flow |
Series- a circuit that has electrical devices which are linked in a row
Parallel- a circuit that has electrical devices which linked witth separate pathways or loops |
There are three factors to consider when studying circuits...
Voltage- the force that pushes electrons around a circuit, measured in volts (V)
Current- the rate at which electrons flow around a circuit, measured in amps (A)
Resistance- measures how a device opposes (reduces) the electrical current, measured in ohms (Ω)
Putting it all together...
Ohm's Law- Voltage (V) = Current (A) x Resistance (Ω)
